Breaking the Frame: A Look At Horror From Our Lens will engage with the idea of redefining horror outside of a Western/Modern time frame and look to understand how fear drives narratives within our own communities. We examine how our experiences, environments, and education informs us of what we should fear in and how we engage with those threats.

Abdi Mohamed is a journalist and filmmaker based in the Twin Cities with a decade-long background in documentary producing, screenwriting, and directing. His work in journalism and film aims to highlight the lives of marginalized communities and provide their stories with a platform to counter the misrepresentative narratives that have stereotyped and alienated them as a whole.
He worked on narrative and documentary productions which span a variety of genres and mediums all with the intent to elevate the voices of those whose stories have been stamped out.
